Duties
- Ensure that the rules and regulations for publications are adhered to in the maintenance or regulatory provisions for the awards and decoration.
- Plan overall work operations, sets priorities, and establishes objectives.
- Manage awards programs and exercises technical authority for proper administration of inter-intra government agencies for customers.
- Review current policy changes, operating conditions, field, new/revised legislation, executive orders, higher echelon directives, existing policies/procedures/regulations to determine the nature/scope/direction of proposed or required changes.
- Prepare memorandums/briefings for Awards and Decorations Branch, The Adjutant General Directorate (TAGD), Command General (CG), Human Resources Command (HRC), Personnel (G-1), Chief of Staff, Secretary of the Army, and other officials' signature.
Requirements Conditions of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent may be required to perform occasional Temporary Duty Travel (25%).

Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
Providing policy and procedure guidance on complex problems that arise within the various programs;
Establishing performance standards for subordinate employees to evaluate production; and/or Planning human resource operations to meet present and future mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
