Electronics Technician III - WTRS Fort Knox, Kentucky
This is an SCA role - 1st shift.
Responsibilities / Duties- Perform all functions required to maintain and repair electronic equipment for Aviation and Transportation School TADDS.
- Perform PMCS, troubleshoot, and isolate faults.
- Utilize spare/repair parts to address faults in accordance with technical guidelines.
- Research and select necessary repair parts.
- Enter work order data into the online management information system.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems beyond standard manuals.
- Supervise, provide directions to, and check lower-level technicians' work.
- Ensure recording of all maintenance actions in the Management Information System (MIS).
- Manage site supply, warehousing, and storage to support maintenance and document parts usage.
- Ensure site employees complete contractual and company-required training timely.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- This position may require travel to other installations and other WTRS Locations.
- B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science, or Information Technology from an accredited university and 10 years of experience, or a master's degree in engineering, science, or information technology and 5 years of experience, or 14+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Certification(s):
Basic Electronic Technical Certificate. - Strong customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license and on-post driving privileges.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
- Experience utilizing test equipment to include torque wrenches, volt/micrometers, network cable crimping/testers and solder stations to support repairs.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Bend, squat, climb, and reach.
- Repetitive motion; substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer monitor, extensive reading.
- May be exposed to extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
