Position Summary

The truck driver operates a straight truck to transport materials, baggage, or equipment over specified routes, according to requirements. The driver must comply with local traffic regulations, report delays and/or accidents, and ensure safe transport of goods.

• Operate a straight truck weighing 1 1/2 to 4 tons, normally 6 wheels.
• Load and unload truck with or without helpers.
• Maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew.
• Perform operator-level inspections on vehicles.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to management.
• Comply with all applicable regulations, including DOT, Federal, State, local and RRST vehicle operating rules and regulations.
• Perform limited maintenance on vehicle.
• Communicate with dispatcher about delays or issues along a route.
• Check vehicle to ensure load weight is distributed evenly.
• Perform other duties as directed.

• Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, be in good physical condition, and able to work in all weather conditions.
• Exposure to external environmental conditions; indoor/outdoor.
• Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
• Available to work at various hours of the day/night and weekends.

• Must possess and present a valid state Real r’s License.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must conduct pre- and post-preventive maintenance checks and services.
• Must maintain logs of working hours following applicable regulations and requirements.
• Must be able to operate a box truck safely and efficiently.
• Must be able to read a map.
• Must be able to speak, write, read, understand English, and follow written and verbal directions.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate requirements, sometimes under short notice, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime may be required.
• Must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, manually and via required system.
• Must submit to and pass random drug and/or alcohol testing.
• Must perform other duties in accordance with requirements as directed.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must undergo a background check and pre-employment urinalysis.

The employee must be dependable and have strong communication skills while meeting project deadlines. Timesheets must be completed daily, ensuring accurate recording of work hours.
