Moss' Solar Staff Accountant I is responsible for performing general ledger reconciliations for Moss and other related companies, while maintaining and entering corporate-level journal entries. The Staff Accountant I collaborates across teams to ensure financial integrity and supports financial reporting efforts in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform general ledger reconciliations for certain accounts/companies
- Enter and updates corporate related journal entries
- Maintain and update fixed asset records
- Update monthly reconciliations
- Prepare interim financial statements for related companies
- Assist with year-end external audit and tax returns
- Respond to inquiries, assist with research as needed, participate in special projects and provide ad-hoc financial analysis
- Assist in the preparation of division and project budgets, including monitoring variances between budgeted and actual expenditures
- Conduct monthly closing activities by ensuring all journal entries are posted on time and aligned with the company's financial close calendar
- Assist in the management of deposits, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivable, accruals, and reserves to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Assisting with monthly review and reclassification of overhead accounts
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- 1-3 years of work experience in Financial Accounting department
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem-solve
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- High degree of attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required
