The Corporate Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor and actively compiling financial information to perform essential accounting functions for the USA and its subsidiaries.
Responsibilities- The staff accountant conducts meticulous bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Prepares and posts comprehensive journal entries that reflect the organization’s financial transactions.
- Performs thorough balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurately balanced and discrepancies are swiftly addressed.
- Generates insightful monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple subsidiaries, providing a clear view of their financial health and performance.
- Collaborates closely with independent auditors during the annual financial audit, supplying necessary supporting documentation, clarifying transaction details and processes, and responding to any requests for information.
- Engages proactively with various departments to gather up-to-date information essential for accurate financial reporting.
- Reviews financial documents diligently to ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
- Conducts careful reviews of weekly accounts payable check disbursements to ensure reliability and accountability in the payment process.
- Assists in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, contributing to the organization’s strategic financial planning.
- Undertakes various ad hoc projects and reporting initiatives as required, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
- 2-5 years' related experience.
- Computer basics – MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Skilled in Excel at the intermediate level.
