Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a commercial property portfolio in Sunrise, Florida. This position requires someone who can work independently, manage a high volume of entities and bank accounts, and maintain accurate financial records across the full accounting cycle. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Yardi, with Yardi Breeze strongly preferred, and is comfortable supporting property-level financial activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Manage full-cycle accounting activities for a portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries, reviewing account activity, and resolving discrepancies.

- Perform monthly bank reconciliations across approximately 60 accounts and support cash management accuracy.

- Handle accounting for 40 to 50 entities, keeping records organized and financial data current.

- Prepare periodic financial statements and supporting schedules for lender reporting on a quarterly basis.

- Process and track monthly loan draw activity related to property financing arrangements.

- Establish accounting records for newly acquired or newly formed properties, including creation of charts of accounts.

- Coordinate with external tax partners by providing financial information and documentation needed for tax preparation.

- Use Yardi or Yardi Breeze to manage accounting workflows, property records, and reporting needs. Requirements

- Hands-on experience in a senior-level accounting role within commercial property or commercial real estate accounting.

- Working knowledge of Yardi is required.

- Strong background in month-end close, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.

- Proven ability to complete account reconciliations and high-volume bank reconciliations with accuracy.

- Experience managing multiple entities and prioritizing deadlines in an independent accounting environment.

- Familiarity with lender reporting, financing activity, and monthly draw processes is preferred.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously.
