Bookkeeper

Company Introduction

An established construction company is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant & Payroll Specialist. This individual will manage daily accounting and payroll functions while supporting project billing and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and experienced in construction accounting.

• Manage payroll and maintain accurate employee records
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Complete bank and credit‑card reconciliations
• Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries
• Support month‑end and year‑end reporting for the external CPA
• Update quarterly work‑in‑progress reports
• Assist project managers with monthly contract billing
• Manage AIA billing, lien releases, and waivers
• Track job costs, budgets, and project profitability
• Maintain organized records and support audits as needed

• Construction industry accounting experience required
• Experience with bookkeeping, payroll, AP/AR, and reconciliations
• Proficiency in Quick Books Desktop and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger accounting
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and independently
• College degree not required
• Bilingual proficiency not required
