Client Overview:
Our client is a leading provider of community association software and financial services, dedicated to delivering top-tier accounting solutions to clients nationwide. They are currently looking to add a detail-oriented and efficiency-driven HOA/COA Staff Accountant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:$34/hr - $43/hr
Position Overview:In this hands-on role, the HOA/COA Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing bank reconciliations and preparing accurate financial statements for clients. The ideal candidate brings direct experience in the HOA/COA industry, strong attention to detail, a passion for continuous improvement, and a proven ability to leverage technology to optimize workflows and business outcomes.
Responsibilities of the HOA/COA Staff Accountant:- Perform bank reconciliations for associations involving multiple bank accounts.
- Prepare and issue financial statements for associations, ensuring high accuracy and timely completion.
- Prepare necessary supporting schedules, including accrued and prepaid expenses.
- Complete quality assurance checklists prior to the issuance of financial statements.
- Update cover memoranda to financial statements with essential items of note for the current month.
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents and maintaining accounting controls through careful adherence to policies and procedures.
- Research and respond to inquiries related to financial statements and reconcile discrepancies by analyzing account information.
- Directly participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- 3+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant.
- Experience working within the HOA/COA industry.
- Hands-on experience with financial statement preparation, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Proficiency with accounting software and technology.
- Ability to work at a high speed and with accuracy, as this role requires preparing and issuing multiple financial packages daily.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and account analysis capabilities
- Property management accounting experience.
- Proven track record of leveraging technology to improve process efficiency and quality.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an appropriate field of study, or comparable work experience, is required.
