Tax Preparer

In need of an experienced Tax Preparer to provide immediate support throughout the rest of tax season. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can step in quickly, work independently, and manage a high volume of complex returns in a fast-paced public accounting environment.

• Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals and business entities
• Prepare S Corporation (Form 1120S) returns, including K-1s
• Ensure compliance with current tax laws and firm standards
• Analyze financial statements, trial balances, and supporting documentation
• Identify tax issues, discrepancies, and planning opportunities
• Meet strict filing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Collaborate with managers and partners as needed on complex engagements

• 5+ years of public accounting or relevant tax preparation experience
• Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax regulations
• Ability to handle a high volume of work during peak season
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency with professional tax software and Microsoft Excel
• Experience in a mid-to-large CPA firm environment
• CPA or EA designation (or progress toward certification)
• Strong communication skills and professionalism with clients and staff
