Property Controller

Seeking a seasoned, hands-on Real Estate Controller to oversee the accounting and financial reporting for a substantial portfolio of industrial, residential, retail, and mixed-use real estate assets
. This individual will be dedicated to the real estate/investment side of the organization and work closely with executive leadership.

This will initially be an individual contributor role with no direct reports
, with significant long-term growth potential, including a potential path to CFO
.

• Own property and investment accounting across a multi-entity real estate portfolio.
• Manage month-end close and property-level financial reporting.
• Oversee CAM reconciliations, tenant recoveries, lease/rent accounting, and general ledger activity
  .
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and variance analysis.
• Support real estate tax matters and coordinate with external advisors.
• Ensure accurate accounting for acquisitions, capital expenditures, and property investments.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
• Partner directly with ownership and executive leadership.

• CPA preferred
• Strong commercial real estate/property accounting experience
• Prior Controller-level experience (1-2 years minimum)
• Strong knowledge of CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, tenant recoveries, and multi-entity accounting
• Tax knowledge strongly preferred
• Experience with AMSI/eFinancials or similar property accounting software preferred
