Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Research and analyze outstanding student account balances to ensure payment information accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
- Advise prospective and current students, their families, and the NSU community on payment options and Bursar policies to prevent increases in accounts receivables.
- Process specialized billing, invoices, and receipts to facilitate student fund receipt from appropriate parties.
- Track and maintain records of payments and charges to ensure student account accuracy.
- Issue refunds to students and third-party vendors/agencies promptly for excess payments.
- Review data and correct discrepancies to maintain accurate student account information and apply appropriate holds.
- Provide training to new ESS staff on student account processes to ensure proper employee training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), data entry, and internet research abilities.

- Accuracy in entering and verifying information.
- Proactive, punctual, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends if necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff.
- Physical ability to perform job duties involving sitting, standing, and use of equipment such as pens and keyboards.
- Education:
Associate's Degree or 60 college credits. - Experience:
One year of finance-related office experience and at least three months of bookkeeping and/or cashiering experience. - Preferred:
Experience with student accounting systems, academic institutions (preferably higher education), and Banner or other NSU software systems.
- Hourly pay rate of $18.20, equivalent to $35,490 annually.
