Project Accountant

We are partnering with a growing construction organization in Fort Lauderdale that is looking to add a Project Accountant to its accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the financial side of projects and working closely with both accounting and operational teams.

• Manage project accounting from setup through completion
• Prepare and review project billings, invoices, and supporting documentation
• Track project costs, budgets, commitments, and profitability
• Perform job cost analysis and investigate budget-to-actual variances
• Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections related to assigned projects
• Prepare project-related journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
• Partner with project managers to review project financial performance
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience; project or job-cost accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles
• Experience with project-based billing, job costing, and reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with accounting and non-accounting teams
