Lead Accounting, HR, and Business Operations for a Growing OrganizationUltimate Staffing is conducting a confidential search for an Accounting & Human Resources Manager on behalf of a growing maritime and industrial services company with fewer than 100 employees. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a hands‑on professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys making a direct impact on business operations.
This role is responsible for overseeing accounting, human resources, and administrative functions while partnering closely with company leadership to support continued growth, operational efficiency, and employee engagement.
Please note:This position is 100% onsite. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Oversee project accounting, job costing, labor utilization tracking, and revenue reporting.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and month-end close activities.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of financial records and accounting controls.
- Support relationships with external accountants, auditors, and financial advisors.
- Lead employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and HR compliance activities.
- Support recruiting efforts, employee relations, performance management, and workforce reporting.
- Maintain employee records, policies, and HR documentation.
- Oversee timekeeping processes and reporting.
- Supervise administrative and accounting support staff.
- Partner with leadership to improve processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain procedures that support organizational growth and accountability.
- Prepare operational and workforce reports to support management decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and human resources management experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reporting, formulas, data analysis, Pivot Tables, and financial tracking.
- Strong experience with Quick Books Enterprise.
- Experience with project accounting, job costing, service-based accounting, or time‑and‑materials billing environments.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work successfully in a fully onsite environment.
Maritime, marine, shipyard, industrial services, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or field-service environments.
Experience working within a small to mid‑sized organization where adaptability and hands‑on involvement are essential.
