Essential Job Functions
Responds to inquiries and resolves discrepancies involving simple to moderately complex financial transactions in a timely manner, requiring a general understanding of work-area policies and procedures.Acts as liaison with other departments, divisions, or organizations.Operates computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.Operates 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.Debits, credits, and totals accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.Reconciles or notes and reports discrepancies found in records.Resolves discrepancies in accounting records.Accesses computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.Reviews purchase orders, check requests, expense reports, journal entries, and/or budget transfers for accuracy, and approves or denies.Calculates costs of materials, overhead, and other expenses, based on estimates, quotations and price lists.Generates reports to ensure timely information is available for management use.Performs general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.Inventories real property and equipment, recording information such as the description, value, and location of property.Maintains inventory records.Converts fixed asset origination tags to permanent tags.Maintains records of disposed fixed assets.Researches and investigates missing fixed assets.Assists in developing training materials and procedures, and trains users in the proper use of hardware or software.Serves as trainer and mentor for junior employees.Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.Completes special projects as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned or required.Job Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge
General knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).Basic knowledge of MS Access and/or other database reporting tools.Clerical - General knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.Skills
