The Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the North Perry Airport is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Customer Service Representative/Front Desk Receptionist. Under the supervision of the Administrative Officer, Senior this position assists internal and external customers in a variety of tasks related to the preparation of Commission Agenda items for BCAD, performance of administrative support functions for the Administration Division and delivery of mail/documents to other BCAD locations and the Governmental Center, as well as staffing of the Front Desk for Broward County Aviation Department’s (BCAD) Main Administration Office.
All BCAD employees must possess the ability to interact courteously with the public, Airport vendors, contractors and fellow employees to maintain a professional work atmosphere, by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes a positive work environment.
MinimumEducation and Experience Requirements:
Requires one (1) year in customer service or customer relations and strong clerical and administrative skills.
Special Certifications and Licenses- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with authority to drive a county vehicle for the duration of appointment.
- Must obtain and maintain Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) and maintain Customs and Border Protection Seal.
- Two years of in person and telephone customer service experience in a fast-paced office environment.
- Two years of administrative skills working in an office environment.
All candidates must complete an extensive work history verification and criminal background check, including fingerprinting
* post-offer physical examination.
* Ability to maintain authorization to drive a County vehicle.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge.
Per the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, Part 1542, all airport employees must undergo a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and a Security Threat Assessment (STA) in order to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge, as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
In addition to the responsibilities listed in the Classification Description, the incumbent must possess and be able to do the following:- Perform County procurement duties as assigned by management.
- Assist with mail preparation, mail run, courier assignments, front desk coverage and other tasks as assigned.
- Assist Authorized Signatories with preparing credentialing applications and associated paperwork.
