Job Overview
HDR is hiring a Senior Construction Inspector to work as a member of our Florida CEI (Construction Engineering and Inspection) program. This role focuses on Florida FDOT projects, primarily involving milling and resurfacing, bridge construction, signalization, earthwork operations, stripping operations, and final estimate preparation. The inspector will work independently and collaborate daily with FDOT Project Administrators and other FDOT personnel. Responsibilities- Work independently on FDOT projects such as milling, resurfacing, bridge construction, signalization, earthwork, stripping, and final estimate preparation.
- Interact daily with FDOT project administrators and personnel.
- Ensure quality, safety, and compliance on site and with project specifications.
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation and report findings.
- Willingness to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
- Technical School or Associate’s Degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of roadway and/or bridge construction inspection experience.
- Local Florida candidate preferred.
- Industry certifications strongly preferred:
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Levels 1 and 2
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Levels 1 and 2
- IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level 1
- CTQP Final Estimates Levels 1 and 2
- FOOT Intermediate MOS
- Nuclear Radiation Safety, Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
- Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self‑Study Course
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
- High school diploma or equivalent (8 years of relevant inspection experience may substitute).
- Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
- Compliance with HDR’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
- No sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization.
