Building Inspector
KEITH is seeking an experienced Building Inspector to support a large-scale aviation project at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). This role will serve as the owner’s on-site representative for inspection activities, ensuring construction work is performed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the on-site liaison between the contractor, design team, and owner for all inspection-related activities.
- Observe and inspect all phases of construction including site work, structural systems, architectural elements, MEP installations, and finishes.
- Ensure contractor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor construction progress and identify any deviations, deficiencies, or potential risks.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records including daily inspection reports, logs, photographs, and as-built documentation.
- Assist in resolving field issues, coordinating with contractors and design professionals to address RFIs and non-conformance items.
- Support punch list development, final inspections, and project closeout activities.
- Promote adherence to safety standards and quality control procedures on-site.
- 8+ years of experience in construction inspection, building inspection, or related field services.
- Strong experience on large-scale, multi-phase construction projects, preferably within aviation, transportation, or public infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of construction practices, materials, and applicable building codes and standards.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction observation, field coordination, and QA/QC practices.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with FAA and airport authority standards a plus.
- Ability to effectively coordinate with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced construction environment.
