Building Inspector

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the on-site liaison between the contractor, design team, and owner for all inspection-related activities
• Observe and inspect all phases of construction including site work, structural systems, architectural elements, MEP installations, and finishes
• Ensure contractor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements
• Monitor construction progress and identify any deviations, deficiencies, or potential risks
• Maintain accurate and detailed records including daily inspection reports, logs, photographs, and as-built documentation
• Assist in resolving field issues, coordinating with contractors and design professionals to address RFIs and non-conformance items
• Support punch list development, final inspections, and project closeout activities
• Promote adherence to safety standards and quality control procedures on-site

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in construction inspection, building inspection, or related field services
• Strong experience on large-scale, multi-phase construction projects, preferably within aviation, transportation, or public infrastructure
• Solid understanding of construction practices, materials, and applicable building codes and standards
• Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Demonstrated expertise in construction observation, field coordination, and QA/QC practices
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with FAA and airport authority standards a plus
• Ability to effectively coordinate with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced construction environment
