The MEP Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale Area, responsible for overseeing field execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial and industrial projects. This role coordinates daily site activities, supervises subcontractors and field crews, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The MEP Superintendent collaborates closely with project management and design teams to resolve technical issues, sequence work, and manage inspections.
Typical responsibilities include monitoring construction safety practices, tracking material deliveries, documenting progress, and supporting budgeting and cost control efforts. The role also involves maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, reporting site status, and driving continuous improvement in installation methods and efficiency.
- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) skills, including coordination of trades, interpretation of MEP drawings, and hands-on understanding of systems.
- Candidates should possess construction safety expertise, including familiarity with OSHA standards, jobsite safety planning, and enforcement of safe work practices.
- Candidates should possess project management and budgeting skills, including scheduling, resource planning, cost tracking, and documentation of field activities.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include experience as a superintendent or foreperson on large MEP projects, strong communication and leadership skills, and proficiency with construction management software.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical certification or degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale Area, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with diverse project teams and trade partners.
