About Cooltrace

Cooltrace Corporation is a Fort Lauderdale-based mechanical contracting company with 25+ years of experience delivering complex commercial HVAC projects across South Florida. Our portfolio spans hospitality, retail, municipal, and government sectors, with expertise in conventional package and Direct Expansion (DX) systems, chiller plants, and Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) installations — including projects valued over $30 million.

We are quality-driven, price-conscious, and committed to delivering every project on time and within budget. As we grow, we’re looking for a seasoned Project Manager who can take full ownership of projects and contribute to that track record from day one.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will own the full lifecycle of assigned mechanical construction projects — from planning and coordination through closeout — driving client satisfaction, schedule adherence, and financial performance. You’ll lead field teams and subcontractors, serve as the primary point of contact for owners and the A/E team, and ensure Cooltrace’s standard of quality is met on every project.

What You’ll Do
  • Own on-site project management across commercial HVAC construction projects in hospitality, retail, municipal, and government sectors
  • Supervise and direct field crews and subcontractors, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality execution
  • Coordinate contractual requirements, design drawings, project schedules, and specifications
  • Perform job cost analysis and sequential cost tracking to maintain budget control
  • Manage the submittal and RFI process in coordination with the A/E team and building departments
  • Oversee contract administration, project documentation, and monthly reporting
  • Lead weekly project meetings with owners’ representatives, engineers, and internal teams
  • Monitor and enforce project schedule adherence; proactively identify and resolve issues before they escalte
  • Manage punch-list completion and procurement of as-built documents through project closeout
  • Uphold site safety protocols and ensure proper site closeout procedures at the end of each work day
What We’re Looking For Required — all candidates must meet the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ HVAC industry experience in commercial construction — this is required, not optional
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer with full project ownership
  • Mechanical contracting background strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of delivering commercial projects on time and within budget — be ready to walk us through your portfolio
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project;
    AutoCAD skills a plus
  • Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface professionally with owners, engineers, building departments, and field teams
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced field environment
Full Benefits Package
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Profit sharing
  • Yearly bonus
  • Paid time off
  • Opportunities for advancement
Location

Fort Lauderdale, FL (Broward County). Candidates must be able to commute to or relocate to the Fort Lauderdale area prior to start date. Role requires approximately 25% travel within South Florida for project site visits.
