The Museum of Discovery and Science seeks engaging and enthusiastic Summer Camp Counselors to assist Summer Camp Educators in supervising and instructing campers (Grades K‑4). Camps are offered weekly throughout the summer with new themes each week. Topics are fun, age‑appropriate, and exciting for youth while being rooted in STEAM learning. Experiences and programs take place in the Museum exhibit halls, classroom settings, outdoors in our Science Park, and limited off‑site field trips.
Counselors should be caring, compassionate, and experienced guides, with a focus on creating fun, joyful experiences for young people. Candidates must enjoy working with youth ages 5 to 11, possess a keen interest in science, and be committed to ongoing growth and learning in the fields of science and education. Counselors will be fully trained prior to the start of the camp, including paid virtual and on‑site training (will include evenings and weekends).
- High‑school diploma.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience working with and/or teaching youth.
- Good communication skills and ability to speak before large audiences.
- Attention to safety and ability to effectively control crowds.
- Ability to work under pressure and in constantly changing conditions.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be available to work on holidays if needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Wage starts at $17.00 / Hour.
