Primary Purpose
Demonstrated experience in educating students, with a prior faculty appointment or by way of clinical background as a Physician Assistant or other healthcare professional with expertise in an academic area of specialization contained within the Health Professions Division. Appointment to the rank of assistant professor requires completion of professional training, which in most disciplines will be a terminal degree (usually the earned doctorate), and the clear promise of a successful career in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Appointment to the rank of associate professor normally requires a record of substantial success in teaching, scholarship, and service. Appointment to the rank of professor requires a record of distinguished scholarship and outstanding teaching ability, evidenced by recognized professional productivity in the field(s) of specialization.

Essential Job Functions- Teach graduate course(s) Physician Assistant course(s) in the classroom as assigned.
- Select teaching, advising, and evaluation strategies appropriate to the students and setting.
- Present ideas clearly.
- Create a climate that is conductive to learning.
- Stimulate intellectual curiosity.
- Provide and maintain a reliable schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, remediation and consultation.
- Participate in department and college-wide committees and meetings.
- Engage in curriculum development related to current and new courses.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan, which may include scholarship, research, service and/or creative activities, to assure growth and currency within the academic field.
- Display behavior consistent with professional ethics.
- Mentor and/or orient new faculty as assigned.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the University policies and applicable laws.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
- Ability to effectively present information to students, public groups, or professional organizations in the English language.
- Ability to work with appropriate mathematical concepts specific to the particular discipline.
- Ability to apply concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).
Master's Degree
Required Experience- Physician Assistant or related health professional.
- Masters degree in related area of specialization.
- Five (5) years of related experience and/or training, including clinical experience.
- Doctoral degree in related area of specialization and five (5) years of experience in healthcare.
- Current NCCPA certification preferred.
- Eligible for licensure in the State of Florida, if applicable.
