Purpose:

Meets performance objectives for assigned programs or territories by providing superior customer service to prospective students from point of inquiry through enrollment, resulting in student engagement and retention.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Researches, develops, and implements outreach plans for assigned audiences and markets.

2. Serves as a trainer and mentor for junior employees.

3. Identifies and engages prospective student inquiries through referrals, conferences, educational fairs, career days, campus tours, and special events.

4. Contacts prospective students to provide information regarding available programs and services. Communicates admissions requirements, program offerings, curriculum information, and basic financial aid information through various communication channels.

5. Handles and processes inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.

6. Provides assistance in completing application and admissions-related documentation.

7. Conducts a holistic review of applicant files, including evaluation of high school transcripts, grades, curriculum, quality of high school, college transcripts, letters of recommendation, essays, extracurricular activities, and other information relevant to the application; makes admissions decisions and scholarship recommendations and updates information in the University's student information systems.

8. Supports applicant communication and engagement activities in collaboration with admissions colleagues, academic advisors, financial aid staff, residential life personnel, and other institutional stakeholders to ensure a coordinated applicant experience.

9. Develops and maintains relationships with alumni, students, community organizations, professional associations, and other stakeholders to support outreach and informational activities.

10. Delivers presentations regarding programs, admissions requirements, and institutional resources to prospective students and community audiences.

11. Coordinates or participates in outreach activities, including conferences, educational fairs, career days, campus tours, and special events.

12. Represents the institution at professional, civic, and business functions.

13. Identifies key audiences and determines appropriate communication approaches to effectively share program and admissions information.

14. Gathers data on competitors and analyzes program offerings, enrollment patterns, and communication practices.

15. Monitors industry statistics and follows relevant trends and developments.

16. Measures and assesses constituent satisfaction.

17. Evaluates the effectiveness of outreach and communication activities and provides recommendations for improvement.

18. Monitors outreach activity trends and analyzes collected data to support planning and resource allocation.

19. Prepares reports related to outreach activities, inquiries, applications, and applicant activity while maintaining accurate records and documentation.

20. Maintains student data integrity and confidentiality.

21. Serves on two or more committees as assigned.

22. Manages travel expenses in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.

23. Completes special projects as assigned.

24. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge:

1. Digital Media - Working knowledge of digital and web-based communication tools and platforms used to share accurate, consistent, and accessible information with prospective and current applicants through approved digital channels.

2. Customer and Personal Service - Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing responsive, respectful, and student-centered service, including needs assessment, adherence to service quality standards, and evaluation of user experience for continuous improvement.

3. English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, sufficient to communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal formats.
