NSU MD is seeking a dedicated, collaborative, and innovative anatomist to join our academic community and contribute to excellence in anatomy education. Faculty will have the opportunity to join a growing medical school that emphasizes active learning, integrated curricula, and evidence-based instructional practices.
This faculty role includes teaching gross anatomy and related disciplines within the medical school's integrated preclinical curriculum, facilitating problem-based and team-based learning sessions, and providing instruction in the Master of Biomedical Sciences program as well as other health professions programs, including the College of Dental Medicine (CDM) and the Physician Assistant (PA) program. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum planning, development, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement;
prepare course and laboratory materials; deliver cadaver-based laboratory instruction, imaging correlation, histology, and embryology experiences, as appropriate; and support student success through advising, mentoring, and academic remediation.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching human embryology and histology, with strong preference given to applicants who have taught gross human anatomy using cadaveric dissection. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to educational innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and student-centered learning.
Beyond teaching, faculty are expected to participate actively in curriculum development, admissions activities, student advising, committee service, and collaborative initiatives across the College and University. Faculty members are encouraged to maintain an active program of scholarly activity in anatomical sciences, medical education, or related disciplines through publications, presentations, and educational research while engaging in ongoing professional development to remain current in their field.

Purpose:
Teaches in one or more discipline-based courses (anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, pathology, physiology) in the Health Professions Division (Allopathic Medicine, Dental, Health Sciences, Nursing, Optometry, Osteopathic Medicine, and Pharmacy). Additionally, teaches in interdisciplinary blocks (fundamentals, hematology, neurological sciences/musculoskeletal, cardiovascular/pulmonary/renal, gastrointestinal/nutrition, endocrine/reproductive, psychiatry/behavior/prevention over the lifecycle) and facilitates problem-based learning and team-based learning groups.
