Elementary Spanish Immersion Teacher
The specific focus is to encourage the use of the Spanish language through quality instruction, to motivate to continue in the study of languages, and to lay biblical foundations of how and why God uses different languages for His glory and His purpose.
This position guides students in classroom activities that will motivate them to reach their learning potential. The teacher will use various methods to interact with students, other faculty, parents, and staff at both Calvary Christian Academy and Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale.
Specific responsibilities include modeling Christ in word and deed, writing lesson plans, establishing communication with parents, attending staff meetings, participating in professional development, adhering to professional dress, and teaching Spanish as a second language and the important aspects of Spanish culture.
Qualifications include a love of teaching, especially the Word, a strong commitment to the philosophies and mission of Calvary Chapel and Calvary Christian Academy, written and oral fluency in Spanish and English, excellent interpersonal skills, spiritual gifts, group facilitation skills, Florida State Certification in Elementary Education, continuing professional development, computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, organizational skills, and flexibility.
Work schedule is Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.
-3:30 p.m. Full-time (40 hours/week); however, may be required to work an evening or weekend day to attend a CCA event, or assist with a special project or in a circumstantial emergency affecting the church facilities.
