Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Early Education is a mission-driven, leader who supports the Director in overseeing the delivery of high-quality early childhood education programs, supporting implementation of the organization’s Two-Generation (2

Gen) framework. This role includes instructional leadership, center operations, data-informed decision-making, budgetary support, enrollment oversight, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The Assistant Director serves as a key thought partner to the Director and is instrumental in aligning educational practices with organizational goals and regulatory and accreditation requirements. The Assistant Director will support the Director in ensuring effective day-to-day program operations, coordination quality improvement initiatives, and monitoring compliance and accreditation requirements.

Instructional and Program Leadership
  • Support the Director in the implementation and continuous monitoring of high-quality curriculum and instructional practices aligned with state and national standards.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide actionable coaching to teachers to strengthen instructional quality.
  • Ensure alignment with accreditation standards and evidence-based assessment tools (e.g., CLASS®, Teaching Strategies GOLD®, ASQ®, VPK Assessments and NAEYC).
  • Lead and coordinate professional development initiatives, including workshops, in-service training, and follow-up evaluations.
  • Support data-driven instructional planning by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting child outcome data.
  • Facilitate continuous quality improvement efforts, using observation tools and performance benchmarks.
Operational and Administrative Leadership
  • Assist in managing daily operational functions including classroom coverage, team schedules, ratios, and center opening/closing procedures.
