Supports the delivery of the clinical curriculum by ensuring that all necessary elements are in place in a timely, coordinated, and organized manner.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Oversees the administrative aspects of supporting the clinical curriculum through all required clerkships and clinical electives, including the curriculum mapping initiative and managing the available curricular software.
  • Ensures clinical grades are received in compliance with LCME mandated time frames and provides faculty support for the timely submission of grades to Registrar.
  • Works closely with the faculty to ensure all clinical curricular materials are developed, distributed to the appropriate clinical venues (hospitals, clinics, etc.) and ready to be delivered to students at the appropriate time.
  • Manages the assessment and evaluation system by providing support to faculty in uploading materials and following up with students and faculty to retrieve completed evaluations needed to comply with the LCME accreditation standards. Additionally, provides follow-up of student evaluations at all sites where students participate in academic activity.
  • Ensures all supplies, curricular materials, and assessment tools are ready for use at critical times.
  • Operationalizes all logistical aspects of curriculum delivery and assessment.
  • Works closely with leadership and other medical education leaders to understand how students are experiencing the clinical portion of the curriculum.
  • Oversees the adherence to operational policies and procedures.
  • Reviews operating practices and procedures to determine whether improvements can be made in areas such as workflow, reporting procedures, or expenditures.
  • Collaborates with faculty and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs and in the preparation of master schedules for curriculum offerings.
  • Represents institution and/or assigned program(s) at community and campus events, in meetings with other institution personnel, including hospital partners, and during accreditation processes.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of orientation for new program students.
  • Assists in activities required for program accreditation.
  • Ensures compliance with university policies and procedures; county, state, federal, and international regulations; professional association guidelines; and accreditation requirements.
  • Serves as a liaison with the College’s clinical partner(s) to coordinate student placement, scheduling, and other components of the clinical curriculum.
  • Provides logistical support for courses (scheduling of activities, provision of student - or group - specific materials and instructions.
  • Supports on-campus and virtual academic activities (including assessments and course related faculty training sessions) as needed by the program and assigned by the Assistant Dean of the Clerkship Curriculum.
