Position Overview

TESS is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and development of marine electrical systems for high-end yacht applications. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong electrical design foundation who is looking to build or expand a career within the marine industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and modify marine electrical systems for yacht applications

  • Produce detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD (EPLAN a plus)

  • Perform electrical calculations and support system compliance

  • Collaborate with project managers, technicians, shipyards, and vendors

  • Support installations and commissioning as needed

  • Ensure designs align with ABYC standards, classification society rules, and marine safety requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 1–3 years of electrical design or engineering experience

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety practices

  • Interest in marine systems and yachts

Preferred
  • Marine or yacht electrical experience

  • Familiarity with ABYC standards

  • Exposure to PLCs, automation, or HMI systems

  • EPLAN experience
