Overview
Akkodis is seeking a Product Design Engineer (Aerospace) for a full-time position with a client located in Fort Lauderdale, FL (100% Onsite).
Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000/Year (The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)
Type: Direct Hire
Note: Need to have aerospace industry experience. Roles will be responsible for developing, improving and certifying mechanical products such as seating systems, structural restraint devices and airbag systems used in Aerospace. This includes creating designs, coordinating prototypes, and testing, ensuring regulatory compliance, engineering documentation, and full product lifecycle support.
About the RoleThis Product Design Engineer role involves:
- Full lifecycle product design (from concept through certification and post-launch support)
- Heavy focus on aircraft seating systems, structural restraints, and airbag systems
- A mix of mechanical, electromechanical, and potentially hydraulic components
- Strong emphasis on certification testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration (QA, manufacturing, procurement, etc.)
- Degree: BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Tools:
Proficient in Solid Works (or similar CAD) and Microsoft Office 365 - Experience:
- Hands-on mechanical design and product development
- Familiarity with certification processes, especially in aerospace (i.e., FAA, EASA)
- Experience with DOE, DFMEA, compliance matrices
- Strong documentation and communication skills
