STCW Basic Safety
ENG1 Medical Certificate
Y3 or Y2 CoC
- Security Awareness/Designated Security Duties
- Strong organizational ability for maintenance planning, budgeting, and spares management
- Proven experience running a small or single-handed engineering department
- Competence in managing shipyard periods, refits, and warranty issues
- Effective technical reporting and documentation, including defect logs and compliance records
- Ability to liaise confidently with shipyards, surveyors, contractors, and management
- Experience with remote-cruising logistics, including redundancy planning and critical spares
- Solutions-focused mindset, especially during technical failure
- Clear, proactive communication with Captain and all departments
- Independent decision-making ability with sound judgement under pressure
- High standards of professionalism, discretion, and teamwork
