TESS is an industry leader servicing the Mega Yacht Industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Technician to support, maintain, and troubleshoot computer-controlled and automated systems within the marine environment. This role is critical to reducing manual intervention, increasing system reliability, and maximizing operational efficiency across vessel platforms.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position offering a flexible schedule, competitive benefits, health insurance, and paid vacation time.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, install, configure, and support marine electrical control and automation systems
  • Program, commission, and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, control, and automation system issues
  • Maintain and repair electrical equipment used in marine automation applications
  • Conduct electrical safety inspections and ensure compliance with applicable marine, port, and regulatory standards
  • Support automation upgrades, system optimizations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project teams to deliver reliable automation solutions
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Automation Systems, or a related field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in automation, electrical systems, or marine environments required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a desk and on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
  • Ability to work in marine, shipyard, and onboard vessel environments
