Project Manager, Civil Engineering

Responsibilities

Performs complex professional, technical, administrative, and engineering work for transportation engineering projects. Ensures the safe and efficient operation of roadways by overseeing studies, design, analysis, and implementation of traffic solutions. Manages capital improvement projects from the planning to closeout to ensure compliance with all City, County, and State standards and regulations. Work is performed under direction with considerable latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Seeks technical guidance on unusual or complex problems or issues.

Bachelor’s Degree Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Urban Planner or related field. Four (4) or more years’ experience in project management and/or Department of Transportation and Mobility engineering and infrastructure projects or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Project Management Professional (PMP) and Professional Engineer (PE) certifications are preferred. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
