Utilities Project Manager - Fort Lauderdale/West Palm Beach
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Utilities Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead a variety of municipal infrastructure projects – including water, sewer, and stormwater. Water and sewer work includes transmission system, pump stations, and plant work. Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the design and delivery of utility projects for municipal clients focused on water and wastewater treatment, distribution, collection, and transmission.
- Prepare, review, and approve design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with municipal clients, contractors, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects meet all applicable standards and permitting requirements.
- Provide technical support services for regulatory compliance by public water and wastewater utilities.
- Lead project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration efforts to ensure on-time, on-budget performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
- Conduct field visits, site evaluations, and progress inspections as needed.
- Prepare project reports, presentations, and documentation for municipal staff, elected officials, and public meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, including project management.
- Proven experience delivering municipal infrastructure projects (public works, utilities, drainage, or transportation).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of conventional and advanced treatment processes, water chemistry and modeling in water and wastewater utility design, and good understanding of current rules and regulations associated with water and wastewater design elements.
- Strong understanding of government permitting processes.
