Thomas Engineering Group is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Civil Engineer to join our growing team. If you're passionate about land development, infrastructure design, and working on diverse projects from concept through construction, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Civil Engineer, you'll collaborate with clients, municipalities, and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions throughout South Florida.

What You'll Do
  • Perform zoning reviews by evaluating municipal zoning and land development regulations to determine project feasibility and development constraints.
  • Conduct site investigations and due diligence, including utility research, agency coordination, ordinance review, and site visits.
  • Prepare conceptual site plans based on client objectives and engineering analysis.
  • Design stormwater management and stormwater conveyance systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D/AutoCAD and hydrology software.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, including pipe sizing, drainage area analysis, Rational Method calculations, Manning's Equation, and hydraulic grade line evaluations.
  • Develop grading plans that optimize earthwork while ensuring safe and effective site drainage.
  • Design utility systems, including stormwater, sanitary sewer, water distribution, pump stations, gas, and other utility infrastructure.
  • Identify and resolve horizontal and vertical utility conflicts during design.
  • Prepare soil erosion and sediment control plans using industry best management practices (BMPs).
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering correspondence, drainage reports, site investigation reports, and other project documentation.
  • Develop construction cost estimates based on engineering plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, attorneys, contractors, municipalities, and internal project teams to successfully deliver projects from concept through permitting.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • E.I. certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
  • Experience in land development and site design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (or AutoCAD/Land Development Desktop).
  • Experience with hydrology and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater management, utility design, grading, and permitting.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
