Engineering Planner
We are seeking an Engineering Planner to support engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing operations in a fast-paced product development and production environment. This role will serve as a key liaison between engineering teams, suppliers, quality, and operations to ensure materials, components, and vendor activities are aligned with project timelines and production requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience in supplier management, new product introduction (NPI), inventory control, and ERP systems, along with a strong understanding of manufacturing operations and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support engineering teams in identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new suppliers, including NDA coordination.
- Manage RFQ activities and assist with supplier selection.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to support supplier qualification activities and Approved Supplier List maintenance.
- Coordinate technical communication between suppliers and engineering teams.
- Work with contract manufacturers, machine shops, plastics suppliers, automation vendors, and prototype suppliers.
- Track supplier lead times, delivery schedules, and project commitments.
- Escalate supply chain, quality, and delivery risks when necessary.
- Generate and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Support procurement of engineering components, tooling, fixtures, equipment, prototypes, and production materials.
- Source machined parts, injection-molded plastics, electronics, and contract manufacturing services.
- Maintain supplier records, quotations, pricing information, and sourcing documentation.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing solutions.
- Support receiving, shipping, and inventory transactions.
- Assist with inspection activities as needed.
- Coordinate material requirements to support engineering builds and production schedules.
- Assist with demand planning, inventory management, and material forecasting.
- Support pilot builds, production launches, new product introduction (NPI), and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively address material shortages.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels while minimizing inventory carrying costs.
- Support inventory documentation and material flow processes.
- Assist with ERP/MRP system implementation, updates, and work order tracking.
- Maintain project trackers, procurement reports, and supply chain dashboards.
- Prepare reports related to vendor performance, purchasing activities, project status, and material availability.
- Support document control and maintain accurate planning records.
- Communicate schedule changes and procurement updates to stakeholders and management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
Engineering Planning, Production Planning, Supply Chain Coordination, Procurement, Manufacturing Operations, Project Coordination. - Experience working within a technical manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with: RFQ management, Quality Assurance processes, Medical device manufacturing, Robotics or automation products, Engineering drawings and technical documentation, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Experience supporting supplier qualification and vendor performance initiatives.
- Knowledge of new product introduction (NPI) and production launch processes.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
