Sr. Project Manager

Their staff includes landscape architects, engineers, planners, surveyors and environmental scientists who provide a full range of professional expertise and services in design, planning, and project implementation. Through a seamless, integrated team approach to collaboration, they develop sustainable solutions to address their clients’ needs and the community context in which their projects reside.

Our client is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their Civil team in their Fort Lauderdale office. The candidate must be a licensed Professional Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering. At least 10 years of post-licensure experience is also required. We are looking for someone who has strong people and team building skills to effectively communicate with clients and staff.

The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Project management and oversight of site development and public infrastructure projects and technical tasks. Work closely with clients, other disciplines, and stakeholders in the successful delivery of projects and maintaining excellent client relations.
  • Coordinate with and mentor Project Managers to provide quality projects that ensure client satisfaction.
  • Refine and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering/technical work performed utilizing company-wide standards.
  • Design and analyze water and sewer systems, pavement, grading, drainage, signing and pavement markings as well as prepare engineering reports with calculations to support the design.
  • Design of various projects including site development, roadways, distribution/collection systems, lift stations etc.
  • Proactively manage project technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications, etc.
  • Review contracts and coordinate approval from Corporate Leadership as appropriate.
  • Financial Project Management: i.e. A/R, invoicing, etc. Responsible for project performance and client profitability.
  • Write reports using local and state standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work collaboratively to grow Miller Legg’s presence and market share in Florida markets.
  • Review proposal scope, pricing and other content for civil and multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Perform client visits and routine marketing calls. Assist with marketing, proposals, and technical presentations.
Position

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of post-licensure experience in civil and/or infrastructure related designs required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • Florida-licensed Professional Engineer required, with ability to obtain PE license in multiple states if needed.
  • Experience designing Water and Sewer Systems, Roadway, Drainage, and Land Development projects.
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices and experience working with contractors to address construction issues.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Micro Station a plus.
  • Previous south Florida Local Public Agency experience is preferred (experience with other Florida agencies will also be considered).
  • Knowledge in Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) standards and practices is desired.
