Location:
Fort Lauderdale, FL (first 90 days in office, after 90 days 1 day remote and eventually 2 days remote)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented accounting professional to support core financial operations across multiple entities. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting requirements, and collaborating cross‑functionally to ensure strong internal controls and compliance with applicable standards.

This role requires strong analytical capability, advanced Excel proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare recurring financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for various business units.
  • Record and post journal entries in accordance with established accounting standards.
  • Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Review documentation to confirm transactions are recorded accurately and within appropriate reporting periods.
Analysis & Reconciliations
  • Develop and maintain reconciliation schedules using advanced spreadsheet functionality.
  • Analyze complex financial data and assist in drafting narrative explanations for reports.
  • Review weekly accounts payable disbursements for accuracy and compliance.
Audit & Compliance Support
  • Partner with external auditors during annual audits by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to inquiries.
  • Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant federal, state, and local compliance guidelines impacting the organization’s operations.
Planning & Special Projects
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Support financial modeling and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline required.
  • 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Exposure to multi‑entity or multi‑industry environments preferred.
  • Experience working with general ledger systems; familiarity with enterprise accounting platforms is advantageous.
Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced level required).
  • Comfortable working within financial systems and generating system‑based reports.
