We are currently seeking a Yacht Accountant in our Fort Lauderdale office who will provide the vessel and owner with accounting and reporting services while serving as the owner’s primary point of contact for these functions.
Primary Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Budgeting- Arrange for Annual, Quarterly & Monthly budgets for each vessel based on collaboration with Captain and Yacht Managers as requested by the owner.
- Prepare budgets with adequate description and presentation.
- Ensure that budgets and monthly reports are presented in a timely manner.
- Produce Annual, Quarterly & Monthly financial reports to the owner and/or owner’s Rep.
- Provide budget variance analysis in collaboration with the Captain & Yacht Manager.
- Present funding requests to the owner based on budget projects and cash reserves.
- Ensure that expenditure approval levels are established and agreed to by the Owner and communicated to the Captain & Crew.
- Review and process payable invoices for the vessel in accordance with the established IYC approval protocols.
- Train and assist the Captains and Crew in IYC accounting procedures.
- Manage the Captain & Crew’s debit/credit cards and petty cash, frequently in multiple currencies.
- Understand and apply each vessel’s financial and taxable requisite corresponding to her flag state, registration, and location.
- Process payroll and provide funding to third party payroll service providers each month.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and File Maker;
Quick Books is a plus - The ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, captains, and yacht management team members
- A willingness and ability to attend boat shows and perform international travel, as required
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proven detail-orientation and analytical skills
You’ll be part of a collaborative team with a global reach and shared passion for excellence in service. Compensation range will be $65,000 to $75,000 with a yearly discretionary bonus. An excellent benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid parking, and more.
