Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to lead and enhance the accounting and finance functions within a growing organization. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in manufacturing and cost accounting, as well as a proven ability to develop and mentor teams.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee all aspects of accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, while managing a team of six direct reports.

- Prepare and post journal entries such as accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Lead the month-end close process to produce timely and accurate financial reports.

- Perform reconciliations for balance sheets and income statements to maintain financial integrity.

- Ensure payroll processing is accurate, compliant, and completed within required timelines.

- Administer corporate systems, including credit card and expense platforms, to uphold policy compliance and reporting standards.

- Lead the implementation and management of the Acumatica system, overseeing design, configuration, and adoption across departments.

- Coordinate year-end audit preparation, providing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries promptly.

- Generate and analyze financial statements and management reports to support strategic decision-making.

- Develop and mentor a team, fostering growth, accountability, and alignment with organizational priorities. Requirements - A minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing and cost accounting roles.

- Strong expertise in journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

- Proficiency in payroll administration and compliance.

- Familiarity with Acumatica software and other accounting systems.

- Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.

- Ability to oversee system implementations and integrations across multiple departments.

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate financial reporting and internal controls.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate audits and collaborate across teams.
