A prestigious and growing law firm in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Senior Accounting & Financial Analyst to join its accounting and finance team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership, support multi‑state operations, and contribute to financial reporting, compliance, forecasting, and firm‑wide financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple offices and entities.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor key financial metrics and operational KPIs.
  • Prepare executive‑level reports and financial summaries for leadership.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives.
Accounting Operations
  • Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Oversee month‑end and year‑end close processes.
  • Reconcile payroll, banking, loans, intercompany transactions, and liability accounts.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and chart of accounts.
  • Monitor trust accounting, unapplied cash, and work‑in‑progress balances.
Compliance & Auditing
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and support testing efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
  • Support tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate internal controls and recommend process improvements.
Multi‑State Tax & Reporting
  • Manage tax compliance activities in Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
  • Oversee Sales & Use Tax filings and applicable property tax requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals.
  • Partner closely with the CFO and firm leadership.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and assist with training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams across multiple offices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting, financial analysis, or corporate finance experience.
  • Prior law firm or professional services industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Budgeting and forecasting
    • Legal billing and trust accounting
    • Experience with legal accounting software such as Aderant Expert is highly preferred.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
