Best Roofing, a leading provider of roofing solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the company’s financial goals. This position is essential to drive the financial health of the organization while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.

The Financial Controller’s primary focus will be on overseeing and improving financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing financial operations to support business objectives. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in accounting and financial management to provide timely insights that guide decision-making and foster financial stability and growth.

• Financial Reporting:
  Prepare and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Data Integrity:
  Conduct regular reviews of financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity across all accounting functions.
• Financial Policies and Internal Controls:
  Support the development, implementation, and adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational effectiveness.
• Variance Analysis:
  Perform detailed variance analysis and provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize costs and drive financial performance.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
  Assist in the annual budgeting process and the preparation of financial forecasts to support business strategy and goals.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
• Audit Coordination:
  Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing required documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Tax Compliance:
  Assist with tax planning, compliance activities, and the preparation of tax filings, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.
• Management Reporting:
  Prepare financial reports and provide strategic financial analysis for senior management, supporting informed decision‑making.
• Compliance and Regulatory Updates:
  Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company remains in compliance.
• Special Projects:
  Assist in the execution of special projects as assigned by the VP of FP&A, including system implementations, financial analysis, and other operational improvements.
• Inventory Control:
  Implement and monitor inventory control measures to ensure accurate tracking and valuation of inventory.
• Production Tracker Reporting:
  Report on production efficiency and costs to maintain control over financial performance.
• Vendor Invoice Reconciliation:
  Review and approve vendor invoices for accuracy and timely payments.
• Journal Entries:
  Perform journal entries and maintain accurate financial records across all ledgers.
• Billing Reconciliation:
  Ensure billing accuracy and completeness through regular reconciliations.
• Investor and Lender Reporting:
  Prepare and present Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) reports for lenders and potential investors.

• Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and statements, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.
• Effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with financial regulations.
• Successful implementation of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes that optimize company performance.
• Efficiency in managing accounts payable and receivable, reducing overdue accounts and improving cash flow.
• Positive feedback from audits, demonstrating strong financial oversight and compliance.
• Effective communication of financial insights to management and stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally in the construction or roofing industry.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with ERP systems a plus).
• Solid understanding of internal controls and compliance best practices.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience performing variance analysis and delivering strategic financial insights.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels.
