Wolf Creek Consulting, Inc. is conducting an executive search on behalf of Broward County, Florida for an accomplished financial executive to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
This is a significant opportunity for a proven finance leader to join one of the largest and most dynamic county governments in the nation and provide strategic financial leadership for a complex, diverse organization serving approximately two million residents.
THE OPPORTUNITYThe Chief Financial Officer will serve as a key member of Broward County’s executive leadership team, providing strategic direction and oversight of the County’s financial operations.
The successful candidate will bring sophisticated financial expertise, sound judgment, executive presence, and the ability to operate effectively within a large and complex public-sector environment.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Providing executive leadership and strategic direction for County financial operations
- Advising senior County leadership on financial strategy, fiscal policy and long-term planning
- Overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, accounting, investments, debt and related financial functions
- Maintaining strong financial controls, transparency and regulatory compliance
- Supporting long-range capital and financial planning
- Evaluating financial risks and opportunities
- Leading and developing high-performing financial professionals
- Communicating complex financial matters effectively to executives, elected officials and other stakeholders
Broward County is seeking an experienced financial executive with a demonstrated record of leadership in a large, sophisticated organization. Candidates should possess extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting and organizational leadership.
Experience with in government, public finance or another highly complex and regulated environment is highly desirable.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required

The strongest candidates will combine technical financial expertise with the ability to think strategically, lead people, build relationships and communicate confidently at the executive level.
COMPENSATIONSalary Range: $223,631 — $356,915
