Position: MLS Next Pro & Academy Athletic Training Coordinator

Overview

Description

  • Performs as Certified Athletic Trainer in managing the health care of players. Health care includes but is not limited to first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, developing rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals.
  • Maintain communication with the Head of Health and the club’s medical services.
  • Coordinate coverage schedules, staff, and training room operations for the academy.
  • Maintain a complete and up to date roster of player health and participation records in League-provided electronic medical record system.
  • Keep athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean and organized.
  • Create and update an inventory of equipment and supplies needed for daily activities and travels.
  • Comply with all League medical policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Comply with OSHA Standards with regards to blood borne pathogens.
  • Provide medical assistance to other IMCF teams as needed.
  • Travel with assigned teams to provide coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree in health-related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field of sports medicine.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic team player.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize/multi-task.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and friendly demeanor.
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) fluency preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Licenses and Certifications
  • NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer.
  • In good standing with NATABOC and an active member of NATA (or CATA).
  • Licensed to practice athletic training in the State of Florida.
  • Current professional CPR/AED certification.
  • Personal professional liability insurance.
