Revenue Cycle Specialist—Behavioral Health
Location: Lauderdale Lakes, FL
Base Pay Range$58,240–$64,480 per year

About the RoleAs a revenue cycle specialist in behavioral health, you will coordinate with insurance carriers and client providers to secure maximum payments for services rendered. Working across multiple expanding clinic locations, your timely collections help partners open clinics where they are urgently needed.
Responsibilities- Review and manage assigned AR inventory, ensuring timely follow‑up on outstanding claims
- Investigate and resolve denials, rejections, and underpayments by working directly with payors and internal teams
- Submit corrected claims, appeals, and additional documentation as needed to secure reimbursement
- Document all collection activities clearly and accurately in our systems
- Monitor payor trends and elevate recurring issues to leadership
- Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and quality standards
- Support special projects and process‑improvement initiatives as assigned
- Maintain effective communication with third‑party insurance carriers to resolve issues that impede cash flow and affect patient satisfaction
- Generate reports on key metrics such as cash collections, days outstanding, unbilled claims, denials, and daily census
- Use the patient accounting system (Collaborate
MD) to status claims and add notes - Escalate payor or client claim issues to department leadership and maintain clear communication with the leadership team to ensure compliance with third‑party guidelines
- Update patient demographics and insurance information as needed
- Meet KPI‑established metrics for productivity
- Associate’s degree (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in behavioral health out‑of‑network billing
- Proficiency with Collaborate
MD EMR and billing software - Experience working with ABA therapy preferred
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD‑10 coding preferred
- Experience handling claims denial follow‑up, appeals, and payor communication
