Fort Lauderdale Hotel

Opening in Fall 2025, Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide South Florida with 120,000 square feet of event space, new food and beverage options, a Natural Spring inspired full‑service spa, and an entertainment pedestrian plaza featuring high‑end shopping, an amphitheater, charter boat docking, and a beautiful promenade. The new iconic landmark offers unforgettable views of the Atlantic paired with unrivaled convenience and intelligently designed meeting spaces.

The hotel will be directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center, immediately adjacent to Port Everglades cruise terminal, and less than two miles from Fort Lauderdale Airport.

Overview

Fort Lauderdale Hotel will open in Fall 2025, offering a 29‑story, 801‑room property with multiple restaurants, a rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. It will also provide over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms, and pre‑function meeting space with waterfront views.

Job Description

The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29‑story hotel located at 1850 Eisenhower Blvd, connected directly to the Broward County Convention Center. We are looking for a Senior Convention Services Manager to enforce sales and catering contracts, guide meeting planners through the planning process, and serve as a liaison between the planner/client and the hotel. This position details catering and convention services events and is eligible for the Omni Sales Incentive Plan.

Responsibilities
  • Negotiate with customers using creative menu presentations and event proposals to maximize revenue and fulfill contractual responsibilities.
  • Obtain all event‑related information, including specifications, audio/visual, rooming list, food and beverage requirements, and forecast revenue at least 60 days in advance.
  • Drive function space optimization to ensure best utilization for guest experience and financial performance.
  • Produce and distribute accurate group resumes, banquet event orders, and diagrams to all operating departments promptly.
  • Yield sleeping room block and function space accurately, calculate attrition with accounting.
  • Initiate and follow up on billing procedures, ensuring deposits or credit applications are received on time.
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑convention meetings with customers and departments to confirm details.
  • Conduct planning site inspections as required.
  • During conventions, ensure arrangements meet the planner’s specifications and manage on‑site changes efficiently.
  • Provide availability to the planner via phone, email, and in person to troubleshoot questions.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with customers, exceeding expectations and encouraging repeat business.
  • Attend necessary internal meetings that affect the department (e.g., daily standup, hotel standup, BEO, resume review).
  • Find solutions to challenges that arise during events and represent the hotel professionally.
  • Mentor and develop administrative and management staff for future growth.
  • Accurately forecast all food and beverage events monthly and yearly; assist in forecasting guestroom revenue with the Group Housing Coordinator.
  • Assist leaders with oversight, training, and development of Event Concierge and Administrative Assistant roles.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between groups and hotel staff, utilizing banquet event orders and resumes to ensure group success.

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Convention Services Manager at a similar sized hotel, managing large groups and conventions of 2–1,000+ guests.
  • Expertise in time management, customer service skills, and large‑scale event food and beverage knowledge.
  • Proficiency in guiding customers with event setups and diagrams.
  • Experience with events containing large, outsourced exhibits, drayage, and production companies.
