Network Deployment Technician - Pompano , FL

As an ITS Network Deployment Technician, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in Pompano Beach, FL, you will be responsible for configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining network field infrastructure that supports business operations. This position will work with management and staff to identify system needs as well as improve and maintain existing infrastructure and related documentation.

We are seeking an ITS Network Deployment Technician, experienced with layer 2 networking to meet the following needs:

• Perform troubleshooting and analysis of connectivity issues
• Maintain configuration files and documentation for all network infrastructure
• Meticulous skill in wire management, labeling, remote site installations
• Support and troubleshoot layer 2 networks of significant size and complexity
• Perform regular updates to network management system
• Act as a key point of contact for system outages, changes, inquiries and requests
• Support the business operations with prompt, effective problem resolution
• Participate in a on‑call rotation
• Excellent documentation skills
• Strong knowledge of common network protocols, packet capture analysis, device deployment

Associate degree in computer science / management information systems, a computer‑related degree or equivalent experience

Minimum two years of experience deploying network hardware.

Prior experience working with Cisco IOS and Ruckus/Brocade

Experience with Microsoft Office products

Must have the ability to travel to all owned facilities for deployments and investigation.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and able to walk on uneven terrain and access areas on slopes.

Proficient at utilizing network management systems to provide time‑accurate documentation

Ability to adapt to dynamic responsibilities, work effectively with limited information to seek out the necessary resources to complete the task at hand, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment

Excellent planning skills to efficiently and effectively scope, prioritize and develop required infrastructure updates

Preferred certifications:
CompTIA Network*;
Prior experience performing OTDR testing and fiber certification

Prior experience with routing as well as working knowledge of port security, mapping, spanning tree and intrusion prevention
