Desktop Support Technician

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our technology team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical issues, supporting end users, and ensuring reliable workstation performance. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid foundation in desktop technologies with room to grow into more advanced IT responsibilities.

Responsibilities

+ Provide hands-on desktop, laptop, and peripheral support across Windows and/or Mac environments

+ Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and hardware components

+ Diagnose and resolve hardware failures, OS issues, application errors, and workstation performance problems

+ Support user account requests including password resets, access permissions, and workstation setups

+ Troubleshoot network connectivity issues such as VPN failures, Wi-Fi problems, DNS conflicts, and printer access

+ Assist with workstation imaging, software deployment, updates, and patching

+ Support onboarding and offboarding tasks including device setup, user profiles, and asset assignment

+ Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and device changes accurately in the ticketing system

+ Maintain inventory of desktops, laptops, monitors, accessories, and licensed software

+ Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary

+ Follow organizational IT policies, security standards, and operational procedures

Requirements

Requirements

+ 1-3 years of Desktop Support or Technical Support experience

+ Strong proficiency with Windows 10/11 and/or macOS

+ Experience troubleshooting hardware components (memory, storage, peripherals, printers, etc.)

+ Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications, Teams, One Drive, and Outlook configuration

+ Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN)

+

Experience with imaging or deployment tools such as Intune, SCCM, MDT, or similar

+

Experience with ticketing systems (Service Now, Jira, Zendesk, Fresh service, etc.)

+ Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to diagnose issues systematically

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, and work independently or in a team

+ CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar industry certifications are a plus
