IoT Linux Test Engineer (AI Imaging & Smart Infrastructure) Overview
We are seeking an IoT Linux Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of cutting-edge AI imaging technology deployed within smart infrastructure. This role will focus on manual and automated testing of Linux-based IoT devices that integrate with systems and support advanced image detection capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux environments, device testing, networking protocols, and collaboration across software engineering and field operations teams.
Responsibilities- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test procedures for Linux-based IoT devices.
- Perform manual testing while contributing to the organization's transition toward automated testing frameworks.
- Validate functionality, performance, reliability, and connectivity of embedded devices deployed in real-world environments.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to data transmission, networking, and device communication.
- Utilize tools such as Wireshark, Postman, and OpenVPN to validate data flows and communication protocols.
- Document testing results, defects, and recommendations through detailed reports.
- Partner closely with software developers, QA leads, product teams, and field personnel to identify and resolve issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis and support product releases.
- Verify AI imaging and image detection functionality for deployed devices.
- Experience testing Linux-based systems, embedded devices, or IoT products.
- Familiarity with Linux command line and troubleshooting.
- Experience writing and executing test cases and test documentation.
- Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and device communications.
- Experience with:
- Wireshark
- Postman
- OpenVPN
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience with test automation frameworks or automated testing tools.
- Background testing IoT, embedded systems, edge devices, or connected hardware.
- Exposure to AI-based imaging, computer vision, image recognition, or video analytics solutions.
- Experience validating wireless or over-the-air (OTA) communications and data protocols.
- Familiarity with smart city, public safety, surveillance, or infrastructure technology solutions.
