This is a 12-month contract position for a QA Automation Lead based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, available on an onsite/remote basis. You will drive day-to-day test planning, execution, and defect management across reservation modules while leading and mentoring a team of testers in both functional and automation testing.
Responsibilities- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scenarios based on requirements and project timelines for both manual and automated testing
- Lead and mentor a team of testers, providing guidance on testing best practices, methodologies, and technical tools
- Coordinate and oversee the execution of manual and automated test cases across multiple modules; ensure quality and completeness
- Identify, document, triage, and prioritize defects; facilitate resolution and retest cycles with development and vendor teams
- Work closely with functional leads, architects, and vendor teams to understand requirements, resolve testing blockers, and facilitate issue resolution
- Oversee automation test design, execution, and maintenance; identify opportunities for test optimization and reusability
- Provide daily and weekly test status reports, coverage metrics, and quality dashboards to the QA Manager and stakeholders
- Required
- 8+ years of QA and test execution experience
- 2+ years hands-on experience with cruise line reservation systems (Seaware/Resco preferred)
- Proven ability to lead and mentor testers in fast-paced onsite environments
- Strong experience in functional and integration testing of complex, multi-module systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team leadership and mentoring capability
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Attention to detail and quality focus
- Ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Preferred
- Knowledge of Selenium
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, etc.)
- Experience with SQL and database testing
- Familiarity with test management tools (Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Test Rail)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation best practices
- Experience with Cucumber/BDD frameworks
