this is not a telework position. Candidate will be required to work in the office.
requirements- high school diploma or its equivalent.
- three (3) or more years of sworn law enforcement experience.
- active certified florida law enforcement officer; possess a passing score on the state of florida law enforcement certification examination and be eligible to receive the law enforcement certification; or have completed the florida equivalency of training (cjstc 76) and be eligible to receive the law enforcement certification in accordance with section 943.13, florida statutes.
- valid driver’s license from the florida department of safety and motor vehicles must be obtained by time of employment.
* college education can be substituted at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year for a maximum of one year required experience.
* individuals that have less than three (3) years of sworn law enforcement experience may be considered as a law enforcement investigator i, depending upon the division’s needs.
preferences- a postsecondary degree from an accredited college or university.
- special consideration may be given to eligible candidates who have bilingual verbal and written skills that meet a critical need of the agency’s mission.
note: correctional officer and correction probational officer certifications do not meet the requirements of the job description.
the division requires you to live no more than 50 miles from your residence to your assigned duty station (office). The mileage will be determined by geodesic distance (direct line) from your address of residence to the address of your assigned office.
